What led you to Wire Belt?

I first came across Wire Belt at my school careers fair, as the Company had a stand there. I enquired about some work experience, which I was lucky enough to receive.

Could you give a brief overview of your career journey so far?

After completing work experience and my exams at school, I started my Apprenticeship as a Machinist Fitter. Once I completed this, I became a fully qualified Machine Setter, working in the Conveyor-Tec department.

When you joined Wire Belt, how were you welcomed into the Company?

When I joined on work experience, I received a lovely welcome. After coming back to start my Apprenticeship, I was pleased to see that everyone remembered me, which made settling in very easy.

How have Wire Belt helped develop you in your role throughout your time here?

Throughout my time here, I have had lots of targeted training which has allowed me to learn in a way that suits me. I’ve also had lots of assistance from management and other colleagues, who have taught me vital knowledge.

Interesting, Technical, Enjoyable.

Describe your typical day at Wire Belt, what would your responsibilities be?

My day usually consists of programming the machine I am working on, making sure it runs correctly, and making sure what it is producing is to the appropriate standard.

What would you say the best thing about Wire Belt is?

The people, everyone here is very friendly.

Would you say Wire Belt has a good work-life balance?

Yes. Finishing early on Friday’s is amazing.

Describe the moment of being granted the promotion you worked so hard for?

Although I haven’t currently been promoted since I’ve completed my Apprenticeship, I am currently working my way towards a promotion to Production Engineer. This will be a proud moment for me, considering I started as an Apprentice.
