Job Title: Business Development Manager

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reporting To: Sales and Marketing Manager

Location: Field Based (ideally based in Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester or West Yorkshire, close to central part of M62 corridor).

Overall Objective

  • To develop and maintain Wire Belt’s business within a UK geographic region plus researching and developing marketing opportunities to grow new business.
  • To assist in developing and executing the appropriate sales and marketing strategies for the UK market, by providing customer, competitor, and market data to assist in the development and implementation of strategies for the overall Sales and Marketing plan with the aim of growth in turnover, volume, and profitability.
  • To assist in executing the appropriate Sales and Marketing strategies with Wire Belt Group Companies and assume full accountability to the Sales and Marketing Manager of Wire Belt Company Limited for the UK geographic region.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Prepare strategic and annual Sales and Marketing plans including sales income and expenditure and seek approval from the Sales and Marketing Manager.
  2. Provide the Sales and Marketing Manager with sales forecasts and monthly reports to monitor sales and business activity, including Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the nominated accounts.
  3. Identify and manage threats and opportunities to Wire Belt’s OEM business, acting on these in a proactive and relevant manner.
  4. Assist in implementing lean principles and strategies to improve the company’s business.
  5. Ensure compliance with data protection (UK GDPR) and health and safety requirements in all areas of the role.
  6. Appoint, monitor, and liaise with new customers who can assist in the achievement of the company Sales and Marketing objectives, agreed targets, marketing plans, training and monitor results.
  7. Ensure effective relationships are maintained with all customers, understanding their needs, and anticipating sales/ marketing opportunities – Also, liaise with colleagues to maximise their potential.
  8. Initiate ideas for new/improved product/service, implementing agreed pricing policy and achieving sales objectives.
  9. Gather, investigate and summarise market data and trends to draft reports, maintain customer records whilst keeping colleagues informed.
  10. Implement agreed business plans and reporting on Group and global Wire belt Group company customers.
  11. Aid colleagues to develop tools and systems that deliver increasing levels of professional customer service and hold regular meetings with colleagues to resolve problems and discuss and implement solutions.
  12. Develop and maintain Wire Belt’s family values in relationships with colleagues to aid team spirt and deliver sales and overall company objectives.

Education/Qualifications/Experience

  • Higher educational qualifications / Qualification by experience
  • Mechanical engineering qualifications or relevant experience / technical bias
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Experience in the manufacturing area of FMCG sector or similar would be advantageous.
